Sydney McLaughlin is an American hurdler and sprinter, who won the gold medal in the 100 m at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Sydney Mclaughlin Parents were both runners. She started running when she was seven years old and won her first race at age 10. In high school, she was a member of a national track team for four years. She made her first Olympic Games appearance in 2012 when she finished sixth in the 100 m final with a time of 12.81 seconds.
